Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball” by Charles Fuge and Vicki Churchill is one of the Little Wombat books and is possibly my favorite children’s book, though I suspect I’ll say that about a lot of them.
It’s a story told by a little wombat about how he likes to do different things at different times. It’s a great one for class rooms as you can have actions and the chidlers can pull some great faces. It looks at how it’s good to come first in races, but it’s also ok to come last, as well as joining in (or not, as the case may be).
The illustrations are beautifully done, and the language and meter of the story make it a fantastic story to read together with children of any age who might still want bedtime stories.
The l chances are, if you like children’s books as much as I do, that you’ve already read it, but if not, give it a go.
